What is a catastrophic injury?
Catastrophic injuries usually pertain to spinal cord, brain, and birth injuries.  Like the term implies, these injuries are traumatic and often happen rather suddenly.  Catastrophic injuries have an enormous impact on the sufferers and their families because of the lifelong medical and financial complications these injuries present.  Some people may recover from these injuries with time, while others will be permanently affected.  Catastrophic injuries generally require lifelong treatment from physicians, physical therapists, and medications.   

What should I do if I have suffered a catastrophic injury due to some else’s negligence?

What is a statute of limitations?
A statue of limitations is a statute in the legal system that requires a lawsuit to be filed within a set amount of time.  If a person fails to file their lawsuit within the designated period of time, they will lose their right to seek damages.  The statute of limitations varies by state.  In Texas, personal injury and medical malpractice lawsuits must be filed within a period of two years.
